An insight into Dr Lan Ngo – General Dentist at Core Dental, Caroline Springs

What is your role with CDG?

I am a general dentist.

When did you start and which Core Dental Group practice do you work at?

I started with CDG in March 2016 and I am based at our Caroline Springs practice.

What training did you do to get to this point in your career?

I obtained a Bachelor of Biomedicine majoring in Pharmacology at University of Melbourne, where I also completed my postgraduate Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

What do you love about working with CDG?

We are a young family-oriented practice. What I enjoy most about working at Core is that I usually look after the whole family – parents, their children and hopefully their grandchildren one day. I get to know my patients better this way, and children often are more cooperative in the chair once they’ve seen their siblings or parents have their turn.

What does your ideal day off entail?

Going for a run around the Tan, grabbing a coffee or brunch nearby and a bit of shopping afterwards.

What is your top tip for teeth that you’ve learned during your time in Dentistry?

Your oral health is very important to your overall well being. Gum disease has been linked to systemic conditions such as myocardial infarction (heart attack) and diabetes.

Most people with high blood pressure or diabetes would visit their GP at least once a year, yet they tend to forget that the health of their teeth and gums can affect these diseases’ progression and neglect to see their dentist for regular check-ups or treatment.

It is therefore crucial to visit your dentist every six months, take 10 minutes out of your day to look after your teeth by way of brushing and flossing them. The time and effort you invest in your oral health now will definitely pay off in the long run.
